Transmission replaced yet (a/t)?

Anyone had there transmission replaced yet? My buddy just called me and told me is will be. He brought the truck to the dealer cause it was failing to shift into 5th gear, or when it did it would take a few seconds. I was suprise to here that.

Mine has trouble staying in 5th. It keeps wanting to downshift into 4th. above 65 MPH. I am wondering if i have a problem or maybe it just needs a reprogramming in the computer.

Sounds also like my friend truck. Once we were pulling a 2500# trailer with 2 atv in it and the truck kept downshifting easily.

He told me it was something about electronics and solenoid, but decided to change the transmission.

I think with any electronic overdrive auto, when you are towing, just flip it over to 4th gear. That keeps it from searching all the time. My 'Burb had a "Tow/Haul" button on the end of the column shift for just that purpose. That's what the gate 4-D is for.

I have noticed that after I come to rather abrupt stop, the tranny takes about three seconds to finally downshift into first. At this time you can feel the rig surge foward alittle. Anyone else experience this yet?
