Thank you Rice. I appreciate the visits more than you can know and to see three LC's pull up really made my day. Looked like a club meeting with all the high class iron here.

As for the rebuild, I believe that is the best method since any replacement 4 speed might have some unknown condition that could surface later on. This is one job I am wanting to do once and not again for a long time. As for the bearing suggestion I assume you meant the bearings in the transmission and TC which I would be up for rather than skip. Replacing anything that might be a problem later makes a lot of sense.

This afternoon after it warms up a little I will pull the 40 under the car port and check the fill level on the transmission to see where it is. I just happen to have two quart bottles of grease available and I will report back as to how much it took.

A HAMOM sounds wonderful and I would appreciate the assistance. However, I don't have an enclosed garage so the weather will be a consideration. If anyone has any suggestions I am open and willing to consider almost anything. I have come to far with the 40 to slack off now.

Thanks again Rice. Your 40 looks and sounds terrific. Thanks Jason for your input and I appreciate having Ryan there as well. I appreciate Ryan because his is about as close to stock as it gets and seeing his as he starts out on the road to rebuild is terrific.

Can Am Cruisers is bringing in Terrain Tamer kits that are really good quality (all Koyo bearings - what Mr. T uses as OEM) at good prices. Onur is a reseller of these kits ...

I will say this.

Unless you have some expensive pullers you will have problems pulling the shafts. I have those pullers as do most transmission shops. They are about 1 foot long. Be very careful when it comes to the internals of the transmission when it comes to the synchrose (sp).

Talking about the transmission here btw.

I understand you are very good about rebuilding the transmissions. When can I call you to set up a time for a rebuild of the transmission and transfer case?
