Transmission Noise

I noticed a very faint noise that sounded like it was coming from the transmission this weekend while towing my boat (7000 lbs) a short distance with power selected (2009 LC). I would say it was like a high pitch "whir" from the tranny, transfer or center diff, not too sure on this. It almost sounded like a belt or clutch slipping

I also noticed the same noise this morning when on a steep hill starting out...otherwise it seemed/sounded normal.

Any ideas on what it could be? The truck has 31K easy miles

Stuff like this is difficult to diagnose over the internet. Your best bet is to have a look at the fluid, which is not exactly easy. Dealership time.
