Can you please explain the transmission fluid drain and fill procedure for the GX470?

I've watched several videos where people drain and refill the exact same amount of fluid they removed, yet they still bring the vehicle up to operating temperature to check the fluid level. If you're replacing the fluid with the same exact quantity that was drained, and the level was correct before the change, why is it necessary to check the level again afterward?
Since you're adding the same amount of fluid back in, and assuming the fluid expands similarly when hot, shouldn’t the level remain correct? Please somebody educate me more on this.

I suppose in theory you're correct. But, not having the proper amount of fluid can screw things up. It's pretty easy to check so I don't know why someone wouldn't take that extra step. I sorta learned the hard way on a different car. I replaced the transmission fluid on my old Honda a few years back. I don't think there was anything about bringing the car up to a certain temp to check. I measured what I took out and tried to put back in the same amount. I must've overshot a bit. The Honda has a dipstick and the dipstick showed the fluid being up near the max mark. I thought everything was fine and drove it, but then noticed some weird transmission noises. Luckily I was just running errands around town. I checked the dipstick again and this time with the fluid hot it was slightly over the max line. I drained some fluid out and now everything is fine.
