Hi all,

My once new 21 HE is now 5 years old and has a little under 25k miles. I drive it once or twice a week so I think it would fall into the "extreme" maintenance category. Anyway, decided to change the diffs and transfer fluid. Watched a few YT vids and decided that valvoline full synthetic 75W-90 would fit the bill nicely. Rear diff fluid was nice and amber and so was the transfer case fluid. It was the color of the front differential fluid that surprised me because it was kinda milky/cloudy 😲. Any thoughts on this????
Anyway took my LC for a long test drive and it def feels lighter and smoother.

Sounds like it might’ve got some water in the front diff. Assuming you’re not fording rivers, maybe just hitting heavy rain puddles?

Change it and don’t sweat it

Did the YT videos get into the weeds on the fact that Toyota recommends a different type of fluid for the transfer case?

milky is water
If it's mild I would worry about it, likely condensation.

Transfer case should be changed also .. takes 75W.
