I'm finally getting around to installing my Sumo gears, and during disassembly of the transfer case, I noticed that the transfer oil pump has the parts in a different orientation than Georg Esterer mentions in the video he did with Timmy the tool man.
In the video I believe he says the arrow marks go on the visible side (toward the pump key). 52:25
On the one I just took apart (supposedly out of a 1996 LX450) has the center section mark up and the outer section had the mark down. I have no way of knowing for sure (got the transfer case from a salvage yard on ebay), but it doesn't look like anyone has been in this case before.
I'm 99% sure I kept the parts oriented exactly as I removed them.
Anyone have any experience or advice? I'm inclined to follow Georg's advice, but want to make sure I'm not doing something silly.
