transfer case noise

I'm running 31, 10.5. I have 4:11 diffs. and at 60+ mph and 2300 rpm, I get a roaring noise from my transfer case, that was rebuilt before I bought the cruiser, also the cruiser starts shaking. I do have new tires and wheels, although the guy at the shop said he feels some bounce at low speeds. Tires out of round? The mechanic said I should be running at about 1200-1800 with the overdrive, and that the proper size tire for that gear setup would help. He also said this is a common problem with the Land cruisers. Is that true?

At 60mph or a 100kmh in fifth gear 4:11s and 35s my LC runs at 2100+ aprox.... yours with the smaller tire will rev higher 2300 sounds right to me.
Shaking is probably tire balance but could be u-joints check them for slop but I would bet on wheel balance.
Tranny roar or TC roar what is it you are narrowing it down to the TC is the shifter boot on and secure the trans will roar at higher speeds if the boot is not fastened down securely to the floor.
Check that the fluids are topped up in the Trans and the TC it is possible the seal between them was not installed properly and the fluid is low in the tranny which would explain a roar.

I've put new diffs, drive shafts, u-joints, rebuilt knuckles, shifter boot is intact. The noise I'm getting is like a growl, It doesn't sound normal.

Any chance you can tape/video the sound for us? Also, since you just got new rims/tires I am wondering if they balanced the rims before the wheels? Long time ago when I worked at a shop we had one set of wheels come in for a customer, new mudders on them and he left happy. Week later he came back saying they were wobbling/shaking a lot and that he could hear a weird noise. Found out he was missing some weights, rebalanced... Rinse and repeat a couple weeks later, so we took them completely down and found that one of the front rims was seriously out of balance on its own. Had to return the rim and get a new one over-nighted for the customer. After that all was good.

It turns out that after the knuckle rebuild the locking hubs were reassembled incorrectly and the front drive shaft was engaged the entire time. reassembled correctly and walla.
