I have this transfer case that came to me with the dust shields on both ends badly beaten up. It binds when you turn it.

How on earth do you replace these? There is no bolt on the flange on either side. is this a full disassembly just to replace that dust shield?

To replace them you have to take the rear T case housing off to be able to remove the output shaft, Then you'll be able to replace those dust shields

Full teardown to replace both shields.

Some work (in place) with a few different shape small pry tools or flat nail puller (modified to fit, L shaped, to lift the edges), a selection of small brass punches, --- good as new (almost). At least that might let you drive it.
