I started my truck this morning and the Automatic Transmission temperature light was on. The Transmission fluid is at the correct level. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Or what the correct readings should be for the temp sending unit. I want to verify that it is the temp sending unit before I replace it. Thanks in advance Dave

If the light comes on as soon as you start it up then the sender is bad. FSM has a test for it and not very expensive or hard to replace. If it comes on after driving a while that is a different story.

Not to be an alarmist, but did any other of the indicators on the dahs light up when you started - like the Alt light, Brake light etc? If so these, in combination, are symptoms of an alternator getting ready to depart this world. If only the A.T. Temp lit up I agree w/ dd113 - bad sensor.
