Like it...However, Im not 100% sure I can get away with that.

Here's what Im dealing with!

The PS is NAAAAAASSSSSTY!

Could you split the rest of the trans cover down the center and widen it to fit? Would still have some filling to do, but would not require a completly custom setup. Flatening out the gas tank well would simplify things.

Whatever you decide to do make sure you open the holes large enough around the shifter openings so that things will not touch and cause vibration noises, or prevent complete movement and cause partial gear engagement when the truck is being used.

Make sure your shifter boots do not create this issue as well when they are installed.

I had originally planned on cutting apart the stock hump. I basically have it in 1/4 sections now, but that PS is the trick. Coming off the fire wall portion. Its gotta swoop out into the ps area. Its probably pretty easy once I get started and pick a good path. Getting around those shifters and staying tucked to the mid line of the rig is gonna be pretty tough. I agree that the gas pan leveling will be a major help! Im also being kind of anal on the appearance as well. I dont want it to look like crap either.

Gonna get some cardboard to start playing with and get this moving. Im sooo far behind with all the little details, but oh well. Now is the time to do them.

Poser. Thanks for that input. I didnt even THINK about how vibes would cause "ghost shifting" but that makes perfect sense. Will do!

A little body lift would help too. Not sure I wanna do that, but it would. It would really make the PS level over the shifter links.
Is it worth it, or a bad idea?

I have a spare unmolested tranny hump, I'll trade it for some welding on the one I have in my 40. I had to chop it a little to clear the t-case breather when I added the Toy Box.

making a little "platform" like boots did for the shifters should simplify that area. I can't tell how much the linkages stick up above the floor, but a 1" body lift looks like it would gain the passenger a little leg/foot room back and simplify things.

Well...I THINK Im under way. Got the card board and was just as lost with that as I was with the steel. I RE visited the stock trans hump... Started cutting here, and pounding there, and Ive got a START that Im relatively happy with. I AM gonna have to cut out the gas tray though. Or, I could just fill in the portion that is occluded by the hum and save the little extra space for storage.

Ill post pics when i get farther along...just in case I scrap it.
I feel CALMER at least if nothing else.

Im kinda doing something similar for the shifters as boots did. When I talked to him, he said that for the shifter boots to work right, the surface should be somewhat level.

SCRAPPED!
hated the way that it was taking shape, and it was gonna be a PITA to make it all flow right by using the stock hump.

Back to the drawing board!

Whoa...SNAP!
Nice job Waggoneer! Ive always appreciated the work you do on your rigs!

Thanks for posting up the pics! Gives me a few ideas!

Here's the new deal...
Kinda bulky, but everything fits on that shifter side.
The wife lost about 2 in of space overall on the PS. seating area.

thoughts?

Obviously its not finished, but you get the idea!

Think about the roll cage you are going to install. If the seat frame is going to be part of it, you will want you tranny hump to come apart so you do not have to remove your cage.

Post 1122 on Page 57 of my build shows it.

I would post it here but Waggoner5 already posted his pretty one. LOL

Nothing wrong with that. Put rivnuts in and make it easily removable.

Waggoner...
Ill be making it a bolt on unit just as the stock hump was.
I like ease of install and removal later down the road.
