tranny question

well maybe someday i might get back to working on my cruiser. right now it has the 350 with stock toy 3 speed and stock t-case. i wanted to slap in an automatic but do not want to spent a ton of cash.

but i would like to get a 4 speed.

what are my options, basicly the cheapest option..

a toyota 4 speed?? sm465?? anything else..

I've only heard good things about the Toyota 4 speed. Highly recommended all around.

what do you want to do with your cruiser? It's cheaper to spend alittle more cash and do it the way you want than do it twice because your unhappy with the way it turned out. If you go with a toy 4 speed you will need a new converson bell housing and if you use a chevy transmission you need to spend some coin to make it mate to the toyota tcase. If you use chevy t case you have to change the rear axle. You will spend some money so if you want an auto just do it that way first.
