I have a 70 FJ-40 and I am converting from the 3-sp column shift to a 4-sp floor shift. I have been searching to find the location and dimensions of the openings I will need in the tranny hump to make this work but have not been able to find them. Would anyone have this information or be able to point me to a location where I can find it. Thanks.

I did the same thing and got a nice result by...

-removing the shifter cane from the top plate
-smear a nice ring of grease on the top plate ring that surrounds the cane
-carefully lay the hump into place and it will transfer a nice little circle where you will use a bi-
metal holesaw to make the opening

Good Luck:beer:

Thanks for the idea. Do you also have the shifter for the transfer case? Did you just measure distances from transmission shifter?

Sorry I can't help with measurements because I swapped again to a 4 speed/Orion, but once you cut the transmission shifter hole, you can measure and start with a small hole and work your way larger....that's what I did.
