Howdy, I am chauffeuring my boss up to Colorado for an elk hunt near pagosa springs, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to throw down 600$ for the elk tag so I thought I would like to do some mild to medium trails and/or trout fishing while he and his buddies are hunting. Any recommendations? I will be in the area for about a week at the end of September, thanks.

Well the standard stuff out if Ouray and Silverton will be open unless weather shows early. Last time I looked Black Bear was closed due to some weather related rock fall stuff.

We got this going on 10/5. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/fall-color-run-10-5-14.817171/

I don't know the Pogosa Stuff very well. To the north is all wilderness area. For the most part you need to get over to the east side of Wolf Creek Pass. Then you have some old mining road options to the south of the HWY. Or run up and around to Silverton like route posted above.

I appreciate the tips, I just found the trail damage website, and it seems informative.
