Hey guys, anyone knows if the lc100 is trailer ready?? And if yes, where can I find the electric harness? Am about to wire up my trailer and need to arrange for connection to cruiser. Many thanks.

If it does not have a receiver hitch... I have one off my truck for sale cheep... my wiring harness was right next to the receiver.

OP: depends on truck year and what kind of trailer wiring.

sorry for the late reply, LC100 2002 model. Hidden hitch receiver. I don't want to load the lighting system so i was wondering if there is a connector. Last week we did my friend's parado and it had a connector next to the spare tire tools at the rear right of the car. Let me know please as I can't find my connector.

It depends. If you need a 7 pin connector for a brake controller, follow the link above for etrailer.com. I did it and it works well.

There is a plug for a 4 pin connector (simply lights - no trailer brakes) underneath the truck in the spare tire area. Drop the spare tire and the connector is up there. Etrailer also sells the cable that plugs into that connector and can be routed to a spot near the hitch so you can plug into the trailer.

I am a little confused... (when am i not?) I went under the truck and saw this

I believe this to be the OEM 7-pin connector. Most of the threads i'm reading talk about the plug near the spare tire area and having to get a connector from etrailer.com to be able to just run lights on a trailer.

Can someone clarify:

1. Is this the item that is known to cause problems with some trailers that have batteries that feed back to the dash? (like that discussed in the FAQ?)

2. If i only wanted to pull a little 1/4 ton trailer that had lights, can i utilize this plug for those lights or will something else be necessary?

3. Do they sell an adapter that goes from 7 pin to 4 pin? EDIT: Yes they do.

4. Are all 7 pin plug configurations the same?

That's the one!

You can buy the adapter to convert from a 7 pin to 4 at any hardware store. I purchase mine from Ace Hardware last week before dragging our newly purchased m416 to Moab and back.

It's easy stuff, buy the adapter plug it in and your ready to go! If the trailer is wired correctly that's the purpose of the plug is provide some juice for the lights.

The 7 pin plug was initially found/used on larger trailer (5th wheel cattle trailers for me initially) and provided connection to some trailer brakes.

Regarding battery issues, I have NEVER had a trailer plugged into my vehicle drain a battery unless I did something stupid leaving lights on the vehicle. If the vehicle is off the trailer shouldn't draw any current in most situations.

Good luck
