Hi Mates,

I'm trying to cross reference what type of wire harness kit I can buy here in canada to use on my HZJ79. Anyone in australia able to see which application uses the same harness as the HZJ79? ie. does the 2004 100 series use the same kit or a 97 80 series?

I will need the T type that plugs into both rear lights I suspect as there is no single plug coming out of the truck harness that I can see. I can cut and splice but I don't like doing that to my nice new main harness.

Help would be appreciated.

Louis

The original 7* series used an identical electrical system to a 60 series in the aussie spec model. How much that has changed since 1984 is anyones guess.

If it helps mate i can take some pics off my 79 of plugs under my tray just let us know what i need to look for and snap pics of etc cos im not the best with under standing wiring looms and harnesses lol

This is from a new vdj79
Any of these plugs looms help mate?

Hi Ross, I suspect the plugs are the same as the 80 series 6 pin cruiser so I should be ok for a T type harness if I can find one. The newer cruisers just have a trailer harness plug set into the main harness itself - my HZJ79 doesnt have it unfortunately.

Off to CDN tire to see if reese makes one. I really don't want to cut into this harness.

thanks for the info and pics guys!

any luck finding anything about this?
I am trying to find something I can just cut up slightly into a voltage converter.
I would like to have it as plug in and play as possible.

Simply strip the wiring naked and braze your connection. That's how i do it, less prob's with water in the connector...
You stil have to put a shrink gasket over it to seal it off...
