My father purchased a new VDJ200 in December, 2013.

Is anyone willing to confirm by looking at the photographs below that the Australian market 200 has the provisions for the OEM trailer connector?

Last week my father needed to tow a trailer so he went to the same dealership the car was purchased from for an OEM trailer connector.
What was fitted was a PZQ61-60281 which I believe to be a 'Dealer Fitted Option' part number because of the PZ or PZQ at the start of it.

The lift up flap does have "TOYOTA" on it.

This cannot be OEM because it has electrical tape and because the electrical tape and the split loom is resting against the bumper.

This cannot be OEM because it has zip ties.
I believe one zip tie went through one of the two correct bracket receptor threads.

I cannot reach far enough over the chassis rail to know where they have gone with this.
Does the OEM trailer connector plug into the 6 conductor or 10 conductor recepticle?

I don't know about the AU market but what you describe is correct for the US market. That is NOT the correct part and the wire tie IS going through the correct mounting bracket.

I have the original boxes and can take a pic for you if it will help.

My parents are planning to leave Tuesday for a six month trip. - Going up the guts and turning left.

My father's intention for the work to be performed was to get a two contact plug fitted to wire the car's and caravan's batteries in parallel, and to install a Time-based trailer brake controller(because the big bikkie 3-axis accelerometer we had acquired cannot fit anywhere, and because we are not certain where the 4 pin plug is situated in a VDJ200 driven from the correct side).
The work captured by these photographs were performed by a different Toyota dealership.

It can be seen where prior workmanship carried out by the previous Toyota dealership has damaged the Bumper bar. This photograph was taken to show how the Bumper bar was destroyed by the Toyota dealership and that there appears to be a solder dob on the right contact. - Despite this, that multi-strand wires shouldn't be soldered, and that all wires in a vibration environment must not be soldered.
Upon completion of these works my father instantly noticed this error and notified the workshop honcho who was also shocked that it was performed in this manner. - So a new Bumper bar is going to be fitted Monday.

My father has a friend who's son works for Toyota as an engineer in Australia and who has worked for Toyota in Japan. It is widely know that dust ingress is a problem for the 200 series. This grommet will have to be replaced Monday and if we decide to keep the caravan battery charging facility, alternative routing will have to be attained along with appropriate insulation and cable support so as not to get rub-through in the middle of whoop-whoop.

There are plenty of spare provisions to wire and fuse things correctly.

p1190353-jpg.884017

Unterminated ground wire just left there. The other issue is that the terminal protector cannot be re-fitted.

p1190354-jpg.884020

There is another unterminated ground wire there, and there's something amazingly hokey going on with the rest of it.

More shenanigans.

Direct access for dust ingress into the cabin, this grommet will also need to be replaced.

More of the same - literally
