There is what looks to be a very nice offroad trailer on the Blue Room under the FJ Items for Sale section. $4500. Built on M416 (or whatever number the small govt trailer is) frame.

My new camping trailer. This is the last trailer like this available from Baton Rouge to Gulfport. Will be making a rack for my swappers, a tool box with a battery and solar setup and a roof top carrier for my camping gear Will also be changing out the wheels to something larger.

Here is a Sketchup drawing I did for the trailer. My only real concern at this point is if I store my wheels in the back like I want, That will make it so the trailer might not have enough tongue weight. I'm thinking of building a battery tray to go on the pull bar to house my extra battery that will be attached to the solar panel. so that might work out ok.

I really like the idea of bringing the second set of swampers with you, making me rethink my wheelin tires alittle

So tent isn't a part of trailer? It's just a hauler correct?

My big thing is I don't wantto damage my stock rims. If you could see the damage I've done to my procomps, you'd understand why I look at it this way.

no tent. I'm going to travel with a 10X10 popup canopy to go over the trailer for when i spend time around it cooking and whatever else. Other than that, I'm just going to tent on the ground or sleep in a hammock.

One of the primary goals is to make a set up dedicated to this and I can just keep all the gear in it that I need and basically on a moment's notice hook up and go. Times when I think I won't take the wheels with me, I'll just have a second storage box that I'll drop into the area where the tires go.

what is the wt cap on the trailer?
me thinks ya might need a bit for trailer 4 tires rims battery some tools etc etc etc. it tends to add up. just sayin

roger that

Picked up a free roof top cargo box last night. gotta love friends. It just needs a bit of clean up and one of the brackets repaired. But no big deal.

Sad thing is, last night, while out getting the cargo box, and taking the trailer for it's maiden voyage; some asshat ran into the back of the trailer at a red light. He said he couldn't see it. The only damage I saw at the moment was that he bent my taillight and scratched the paint. I told hime to be more careful and decided to not worry about it. Well, when I got home, I couldn't get the trailer unhitched from the ball. Seems that the guy pushed the trailer forward and jammed the locking piece of the coupler. What a pain in the ass. i'll have to work on it tonight to see if I can pry it loose.
