I finally found a hitch and went to install it, just 6 bolts, and then come to find out that 4 of the 6 holes that are threaded into the frame have shifted to the side just enough so that I cannot line the bolts up and screw them in. The holes line up but the threaded piece does not. Is there an easy fix to this or do I need to bring it in somewhere? Any tips on the wiring assembly install as well?

If you cannot access the frame inserts/nuts you may need to use a die or Dremmel grinder (be sure to put a bolt into the nut to avoid possibly damaging the threads of the nut insert) and grind the opening a little larger to allow the bolt to be threaded into the nutsert: Obviously you need to be careful since you more than likely can not easily access the nutsert/frame nut if you accidently loosen the weld that holds the nutsert/frame nut to the frame. A little tough without actually seeing it.

I had this problem when I installed my Slee rear bumper. Apparently one of the captive nuts was welded in a little crooked. I used a small grinder bit and ground out the steel that was blocking the hole into the captive nut just as Spresso suggested. It worked just fine for me.

Hey guys, thanks for the suggestion. It worked really well. Was able to grind away the metal frame part without damaging the insert, and installed the hitch without a problem. To bad Toyota doesn't check alignment of the these things before sending them out. Oh well, works now. Of course I lost about 3 inches on the rear end when I am out wheeling, but will be easy enough to take off beforehand.
