Too difficult to answer. It doesn't depend as much on the rating as the obstacle types.
My stock runs (well, without Michelens) were as high as 3.5 back when my 100 was stock. I had TRAC though. On Powerline I completed one non-optional 4.0 succesfully while another Cruiser w'37's got damaged/winched. I just escaped body damage there.

Check out the bottom 5 trips. I was stock there though I had BFG 285x75-16 tires.

One more thing....A TRAC equipped stock 100 would do just fine on a trail like Golden Spike IF IT HAD SLIDERS, A/T TIRES and the owner didn't mind bumper scuffs.

"Trail Ratings" can be very subjective, so don't put too much stock in them. Also, there are several different rating systems so a 3.0 may not be the same as another 3.0. Trail conditions can also change dramatically, so check a local source before relying on a book or magazine.

Consider other issues before deciding:

How experienced are you?
Body damage and paint scratches ok?
Another vehicle to tug you out?
Recovery gear?
Can you change your tire off road?
Source of air, to fill up your tires after you air-down?

It would help to provide a link or description to the trail you are considering.

I've successfully made it to IKEA with the stock Michelins. However with the addition of 33s and the OME, I can now make it to Lowe's.

Yes I was thinking of going but I'm going piggy hunting with my pops on that weekend.
