Trail near old rag mountain

Going to stay at a buddies cabin next week at old rag mountain.
Can anyone recommend a trail to test run my 40 and his defender near old rag or outside of Warrenton?
Novice wheelers. Nothing big..... Just fun. Thanks

They've shut down most everything that was near Old Rag. There used to be trails in Madison in the Rapidan Wildlife Management area. I think they're all closed. The closest I can think of is Peter's Mill near Edinburgh. It's the official trail of the Porsche Cayenne so you know it's easy.

I just took me daughter and a friend (in a bone stock taco) to peters mill. It's a fire road there was a F-250 with a huge bed camper on it that drove it.

I was recently talking to someone at the last meeting (can't remember to whom) who said that the trails at Rapidan are open. A ranger actually told him they could wheel as long as they do not make new trails.

Not sure which road this is but the upper gates often blocks entrance to the Skyline drive. Usually you have to back-track.
