Hey everyone! I've been enjoying the new (to me) Cruiser for a month now and I'm looking for a trip this coming weekend somewhere interesting and accessible for a solo, stock hundy with 285's (BFG AT's) and a locked rear.

I'm looking for somewhere on National Forest land within a few hours of Denver, CO so I can do a little target practice (.22 rifle) with the family.

Any suggestions? I'm not sure if this is the best section, so please redirect me if need be. There are a few Colorado sections, but they all seem pretty city specific (Springs, Grand Junction, Wyoming border etc..) and I dont fall into any cities I saw.

It's getting late in the season so I know some areas may be closing up for the year.

I did Gross Reservoir with a friend earlier this year and that was pretty good, but I'd love to explore new areas.

Thanks for any tips!

Barbour Fork is right out of Idaho Springs, Bill Moore takes off out of Main Street in Empire. Those 2 are where I usually go. Just be smart about it. Be smart about it and find a good bank to shoot into.

Seems like it would be easier and maybe safer to head east instead of into the mountains. Maybe somewhere around Byers.

Safe, always. Those give me a few ideas. Looking at some of those on trail damage, they're rated a 4 which is the limit for most stock SUVs. Think I'll be ok going solo in a stock 100 series with 285/75's?

The scenery really takes a dive out there though and that's a part of the reason for the trip. I'm looking to take a trip somewhere remote enough that you can't get there with a Civic. ;)
