Robert and I spent the weekend in Mexico at the house in the mountains. Here are some pics of some trail exploring we did. The police gave us directions....lol.

Did you find wild ass?

Very cool. What part of Mexico is that? Anybody hassle you out there?

It's in a town called Bustamante (Nuevo Leon), about 160 miles from Laredo. Robert has a house there that was passed down from his parents so he's been going there since he was a child. We got stopped once, but once the cop saw there was a white girl in the passenger seat he apologized and let us go....lol.

The police were the ones that told us where to go on our trail exploration...hardly the kind of treatment you'd get here. :)

My dad grew up there and I haven't been back to visit in years. Let me know the next time you guys go down. Hell, Robert could be a distant cousin.

Your dad grew up in Bustamante N.L.?

Robert's not from there, he was born and raised in Mexico City. That is just a vacation place his parents gave him.

Many years ago we'd go to Bustamante to explore the caves. It was awesome but I don't remember much. I was a little drunk.

Robert has a huge stalactite from the caves years ago. They've since made the caves a tourist destination.

When we went there was no one in charge. You just showed up, went camping and walked through the cave. Very, very primitive but really nice people in the area. Had some awesome food.

I remember going there as a kid as well. There's a big festival there in August with lots of good food and music. Man, I need to go back and visit.

YES!!! We go for both the April and August Fiesta. The house is in the town square so we just set our chairs outside and enjoy the entertainment.
