Horsetooth 4-wheelers will be doing their annual trail clean up this Saturday and Sunday on the trail above crystal mtn. Everyone will meet at JJs lounge at Cnty Rd 38E and Taft Hill Rd in Ft. Collins. Be ready to leave JJs by 9am. That means get there early enough to figure out where youre going, get fuel, tape all the pieces back on your junk that tried to fall off the week before, etc etc. The idea is to get up there, do some wheeling, clean up after the nuckle heads that are trying to ruin it for the rest of us, camp and have fun. If you cant make it up as early as the rest, look for the signs HT will leave to guide you to the camping spot. Bring food, camping gear, shovels, bow saws as opposed to chain saws. and as always, "Pack it in and pack it out".
Eric and Frank talked about doing some target practice shooting after we clean. Frank will check with Lenora about the legality of even being able to shoot up there. Kepp your eyes on this thread for an update. If this happens, remember to cleanup your brass and NO alchohol while driving or shooting. Shooting should be done into targets with dirt banks or similar behind them. (No tree shooting!) (MY personal agenda).
We Voted Kennth Jergens into the HT wheelers club at the last meeting, welcome Kenneth. Not sure what Kenneth drives, but Im thinkin it might be a Toyota.
Meetings will probably be at Franks house in the garage for the remainder of the summer. Manno's is crazy insane busy even at night this time of year and its kinda hard to hold a meeting there with the amount of people and noise. Keep your eyes open for confirmation and address before the next meeting.
One of our memebers, Eric Whatshisname has been keeping an eye on a thread from California about a guy (Greene) with an FJ45 sporting a 20 bonnet (making it a 35 or something) that experienced brake failure and crashed his truck. Eric donated an fj45 that he had to Mr. Greene over this last weekend to help our Toyota brother out. A couple of members of our group helped to get the 45 out of the yard and ready to send on its way. Awesome job and a big THANKS to Eric for his selfless gesture!!!
Again keep your eyes on this thread for updates on the trail clean up. We will probably start a new thread for the meeting place for next month.
