Fellow Mudders,
I've got an 83 FJ60 near Atlanta that's in great shape with only 180K on the original engine. I've done tons of work, but the only thing is, it's getting a little tiresome carrying the fam and dogs in it, and I'm really hoping to find an FJ80 or LX450 so I can have the 3rd seat. My wife's got me eating words, and I'd really like to keep the off-road capability I've got with this truck, but have a more comfortable/roomy interior that would better accommodate my family.
Since I’ve gotten this truck, I’ve done the following: reupholstered driver seat, replaced fuel pump, replaced clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, thermostat, spark plugs, & choke cable. The ENTIRE heating & cooling system has been replaced with a BRAND NEW system. I went all out and got an aftermarket unit that fits nicely just below the dash. I wanted to have all new parts, and didn't want to track down stuff to accommodate the original AC system. I’ve also had the windows tinted, and the stereo upgraded with new Pioneer door speakers and a 2014 Kenwood head unit that has both USB & AUX inputs. I’ve upgraded the uncomfortable stock center console with a Quadratec locking center console that alleviates two issues these cruisers never had: good cupholders and a decent armrest. I’ve upgraded the safety of the rear seat by replacing the old lap belts with full 3 point seat belts. Tires are awesome, with plenty of tread. They're just under a year old. View attachment 1042694
Everything works well, and she runs like a top. It's just not great hauling the family and dogs in.
Here's the stuff I'm going to be doing before the sale OR trade:
Thanks!

Here's the stuff I'm going to be doing before the sale OR trade:
- FULL brake overhaul: New power brake booster, New rear brake drums & shoes, New front brake pads, Bleed the lines, then new brake fluid. (They really need it, and I'm not about to half ass this for the next person.)
- Completing the interior restoration by installing a new headliner & dash cap (incredibly meticulous).
- Paint job (This is obviously a must with a 30+ year old classic.)
Thanks!
