Would my brush guard and TRD wheels on my 99 fit an 06?

If the $$$ is right, I would. I would trade my lifted/rlocker/trdblower 98 for a stock 06 in a heart beat lol.

If anyone else wants to downgrade to the 4spd let me know. Lol

I like the simplicity of the 99 LC.

Personally, if I were to jump to primarily have something with fewer years - I'd go at least a decade to make it worth it to me. If you have other reasons for changing - of course that would not be an issue!

What's the price differential? Does the '06 have AHC? No reason why your Tundra wheels and brush guard won't fit the '06. BTW, good lookin' LC!

Theyre asking $18k for the 06 with 170k miles...theres probably some haggle room. What do you guys think of that price? (keep in mind that in Montana EVERYONE wants a Toyota so the prices illustrate that, Nobody cares about benzes or beamers out here) The body is in better shape than my 99. My 99 has been having some subtle tranny "clunks" and stuff that makes me want a newer cruiser...

I would keep your 99. The AHC is going to be a problem and the emissions air pump will be a problem, plus the miles are not that different. Plus your going to lose $8-9k in the exchange. Just keep driving your 99 for another couple of hundred thousand miles and use just a few of the dollars you would of spent on the exchange on keeping your beast running great. If you want to upgrade find a less then 100k mile rust free non AHC 100.

Nay, I don't see a reason to do it for a high mileage truck, you are not gaining anything. If you were to get a low mileage, rust free 03+, then that would be much more tempting with the 5 speed. But you know your truck's history and what maintenance has been done, that truck is an unknown.

True story. Thanks for the input everybody! Ive made the decision to keep my 99. I guess I just got excited when I saw a pretty 06. Im keeping my 99 for a few different reasons...
1. Seems like the AHC on the 06 is a major pain in the a$$.
2. The 99 is beautifully simplistic and parts are much cheaper than they once were.
3. I could drop $2-4k on my 99 and get it running close to brand new for another hundred or two hundred thousand miles!
4. I know the maint history of my 99 and its NEVER been in any accident or had any body work done in 16 years.
5. I love the color or my 99.
6. My 99 has rear lockers.
7. I can put whatever stereo my heart desires in the 99. Nav is a pain in the a$$ on the 06 also.

Now...if I could find a blue 06 LC with tan interior, low rust, and 75k miles?? That would be a totally different story!!!

I think you are wise... I don't know what you would really gain in that swap... and yes the simple controls and mechanicals of the early 100 series add value to them (imho) I far prefer my ac controls in my 98lc to my wifes LX .... I even think my LC drives better... new and pretty is always nice...... I keep asking my wife... since you won't let me have a girlfriend... could you get one for both of us?.....

Keep it but ditch the Brush Guard, it just multiplies the damage in the event of an accident IMO...

Good Call All Around !

I think you made the right call. I have a 2000 and a 2004 I love the 04 but it has been sold to a good friend, because there just isn't enough of a difference to justify the $difference. Now, on the other hand when youre ready, I love my 2008 and will look for another 200 in a couple years to build appropriately.

seriously? That thing has a freaking ECU for the RADIO ANTENNA! And have you priced a brake booster lately? Tranny? I love your outlook, but simple and cheap aren't two adjectives I'd use for any land cruiser..And keeping the 99 is the right call given the money difference. In five years get a 200'
