I have a complete set of 70-series PTO drive shafts I would like to trade for the correct 40-series drive shafts. I also have a spare split case PTO gearbox. PM me if you‘re interested. I’l update the ad with photos.

I don't have any I want to trade but know there are two styles of PTO winch driveshafts used on the 8/80 40 series with the split transfer case. The 10/82 probably had different lengths of the third section depending on if it had a four speed or five speed.

I was lucky to find a 84 troopy with a PTO winch that was able get the PTO and driveshaft. Few years later traded a one piece PTO and three speed driveshaft for a 8/80-9/82 40 series PTO and driveshaft I assume was off the same cruiser. Uses the same pillow block bearing bracket as the one off the 84.

what year is the cruiser your installing a PTO winch? On my 79 going to have to add nutserts for the rear pillow block bearing bracket and figure how to reroute the goofy 1/79-7/80 exhaust. For my 65 FJ45LP-B main issue is the angle of the drive shaft thru the front crossmember. Up to 1/79 driveshaft ran straight thru. But the exhaust ran inside the frame making it hard run the exhaust above skid plate with a PTO winch. The exhaust was out of the way 1/79+ in market still getting a PTO winch, obviously not the US. Which bring the question why a change in the PTO driveshaft. Possibly the transmission crossmember.

In addition to the 70-series drive shafts, I have a one-piece drive shaft from an early PTO. Since I have a 3B diesel, there isn’t an exhaust system getting in the way.

I believe I have enough PTO drive shaft parts to make something work, but I’d rather not modify/ruin these if I can find the correct parts.

I know it’s a long shot to find someone looking for a trade but I figured I’d put it out there till I get to the point that I bolt up the winch head. Once I bolt the winch head on, the days are numbered for these drive shafts in their present form.
