I installed a new tps(throttle position sensor) about a month back--I have only got to drive the cruiser 4x or 5x since then. When I let off the gas the it feels almost like the engine cuts out(it doesn't cut out the rpms just drop quick)--the rpms drop down to 6.25. So far my gas mileage has doubled. My question is when re-installing the tps there is two ways either with pressure against the spring or without pressure--which way is correct? I installed it with no pressure against the spring?

Interesting... Can't help with the question, but is the "shut off" issue correct, or was that just a description of the RPM returning to proper range? Wondering if I could increase response and mileage as well...

To clarify the description is of the rpm returning to the proper range--but it happens really fast.

To answer my own question:flipoff2: in case anybody else wonders..... When reinstalling the tps you want to put the screw in the center of the slot more or less with little to no pressure.

Answer to your RPM question is probably the little dashpot at the back of the throttle body; it's specifically s'posed to keep that (the really quick drop) from happening.
