A little help please:). I have a rear tire on a swing out and my sensor can't be read. Assuming it's just too far in the rear. Any guidance? Are there sensors that are more powerful/stronger? Thanks much, Mike

What year rig? I do believe there were some changes in the TPMS antenna systems over the years.

I don’t think it’s too far away. Lots of owners have the spare on a swing out with no problem. That sensor is either dead or the wrong one. Did it suddenly stop working or did it never work? How old is it? I bet if you replace it with a new one of the correct type, it’ll register.

You say you “replaced a few”.. did you use clones? Denso/pacific industry/OEM sensors?

Asked another way: did you have to program the rig for the new sensors or were the new ones copies of the originals?

Is the sensor in the spare from the same batch / the only one that won't register?

Just a quick thought - if you want to put a nail in the 'its not too far away' coffin just take it off of the swing arm and put it in the back (have had spares in there at odd times and never had issues with them registering in LC's and 120 and 150 series Toyotas).

More likely than not though either the sensor died / was a dud or bad sensor to start if new / or not the right model (but if it was part of a set of 5 new ones and the other 4 work, probably not model related :)). Hope you can get it sorted and curious as to what you find out in the end.
