Don’t know the year of manufacture, but it doesn’t appear modern. Toyota Racing Development was founded in 1976 so it can't be older than that. Doesn't have a 70's feel though - just can't tell with any certainty when it was made. It came from the Mie prefecture in Japan, and I suspect Japan is the true country of origin. A clue to that is the YKK zipper pull, the same brand used on the mid-1970's Land Cruiser tool bags. Exterior is nylon with vinyl stitched interior. Leather straps and seams. The buckles and straps on the front have a little patina which is an indication it may be a few decades old. All seams and stitching are in great shape. Measures about 20" x 14" x 10" when stuffed full.
Have done some Googling and there are plenty of TRD bags out there, but the number of this exact bag I found was zero. No others I've seen capture the spirit of the Toyota tri-color like this one (how’s that for a sales pitch?)
. In all seriousness it is a nice one. Interesting fact I just learned while researching it: TRD was a rebrand of TOSCO - Toyota Sports Corner, which was established in 1957 so Toyota could have an entry in an Australian rally).
$135 which includes shipping to the US.
