The vehicles we own our distinctive. There is no doubt we our definitely set apart from the rest of the four wheel drive communities. I think it would be interesting and informative if Toyota Trails featured an interview of a member in each publication. I know we have the club spotlight, but I think an interview with a single person would be different. The vehicles are captivating but some of the owners are equally captivating. It could be a member from anywhere in the world with any background. Interviews would probably be chosen by nomination, suggestion or hand picked for lack of participation. Interviews would include technical information such as vehicle specs and future mods along with personal info describing their life associated with the TLCA. Interviews would also include pictures provided by the individual and other members. Interviews would probably be conducted by e-mail, phone, in-person or other. Outside quotes could also be included.

I want to know; what drives these people? Where did they come from? Why do they love Toyota 4x4's (cruisers and such). What do they wish for the TLCA in the future? What is their advice for other TLCA members?

Any suggestions or comments? Is this a bad idea all together?

i love the idea since it would being a person touch to the mag, but it's a hard thing to do when people are scattered all over the place and it's a volunteer staff.

I think it would be pretty easy considering the current state of technology. (E-mail, phones, etc. ) Plus you have almost two months to accomplish one short interview.
Easy as pie!
I can think of plenty of individuals that would catch my attention. People in California, Texas, Canada,Australia, Pakistan, Africa...the list goes on! Also creators of cruiser forum web sites!

I like the idea too. I was thinking about this idea a couple of months ago, but the only name that came up was Marlin. He's been around FOREVER and has been an awesome supporter of the organization.

Also would like to see one of Mark Whatley [not sure what the best time of day would be to catch him in an 'interviewing' mode] Woody and Ige, because they have been around as long as me, so there is some continuity and commitment there too. Edit: add Marlin and Danny Warden to the list.

Post up some other names. I think that would help guage interest for the idea.

This sounds like a good project for the website......features TLCA member of the month.

As for TT, as of now, there is not enough room for another "every issue" column.

Ahhhh....webfeatures...intersting idea.

I can feel TJK twitching on the inside right now;)

Atoyot, this is where I ask the smart guy with the great idea to step forward and volunteer to execute on it? Wanna play?

Thanks, Alan

I wouldn't object to this but I think it would have limited life as a regular feature. And as Nolen says, space is at a premium.

I'd treat this like any other article. Write it up, send it in and I'll give it due consideration.

Thanks for the suggestion.

TJK
