it will work but if you can wait for the 06+ NAV's to get on the market, Toyota added some important features to the NAV (mp3, bluetooth,etc)

but i also believe they removed dvd playback? or am i mistaken?

dvd playback is a pretty easy mod to install. You can put a aftermarket DVD player in the center console or something .

DVD based NAV...not sure if they went to a hard drive in the 06+

Main issue w/ Toyota NAV is no Topo map features so it's useless offroad (70% of what I need NAV for)
