I checked the price for some of the Supra parts remade and it did not seemed through the roof, a bit expensive but some parts are at the price I would expect their equivalent (still available) for the FJ40 to be.

Oh and I guess this is a good indice on the kind of parts to expect :

All parts made by their suppliers. $800+ for a brake booster is through the roof.

I'm very excited to see this coming to fruition. The lead engineer on this project from Japan reached out to me last year and I've supplied a massive list with the help of @Onur @cruiserdan and others. I'm still discussing the project so if you have a legitimate list (remember, stop, start, turn items... no trim, no sheetmetal, etc). Feel free to forward it to me and I'll include it in our master request list.

@cruiseroutfit

I think this is super cool as well Kurt but from the other thread that lists a link to the survey, I found it particularly interesting they were asking for part number of specific parts! That would take all of us days to fill it out and list all the stuff listed in the Unobtanium thread.

Cool nevertheless.

Realistically, what can we team up to do in lieu of the weird survey....which I will gladly add to but realistically feel like it is sooo specific it will be hard for the engineers to have a great effect on the market. They may just pick the top five part numbers in each category. (Speculation without full disclosure)

Hey Kurt. How about 10/78’ distributors? Vac advance almost always fails. Stock exhaust headers, long list….

Hey, if even a small trickle of unobtanium comes out of this, it will be worth it... Do I really see Toyota reproducing crate 2Fs ? No, and what I'd rather see is Toyota produce a modern SFA 4x4 to compete with the J**p (Fiat) Gladiator (Hey, don't they already do that ? :slap:) and SELL IT in the USA.

I be dreamin' ...
This makes WAY too much sense, we all know Toyota will never do it. There first priority is 70 Series for the rest of the World. Here in USA they give us the IFS scraps only, their loss! I am actually shocked they will reproduce parts.

It's listed for 700$ in Amayama, for a random comparison I just checked a brake booster for a 70 series and it's listed for 470$,. Definitely more expansive but for a part you really need and miss not that much more that it's unreasonable.

It seems that the list cannot be exhaustive!
However, we have to concentrate on 5 items only...

and as Spike Strip put it before, "if even a small trickle of unobtanium comes out of this, it will be worth it!"
