Hey, if even a small trickle of unobtanium comes out of this, it will be worth it... Do I really see Toyota reproducing crate 2Fs ? No, and what I'd rather see is Toyota produce a modern SFA 4x4 to compete with the J**p (Fiat) Gladiator (Hey, don't they already do that ? :slap:) and SELL IT in the USA.

I be dreamin' ...

I seriously doubt whatever "this" is will come even close to what @Racer65 has accomplished for the 40 community.

@beno has Toyota *ever* brought back a NLA part before?

If some don't know what to put in their last case 16100-61020 would be the waterpump+clutch assembly for 74-76 in Europe. This part was an early fan clutch to meet euro regulation, it should be bolt-on on most F or early 2F to get the benefit of a fan clutch without the complexity of 77+ clutch setup retrofitted.

A small cool other one, the weatherstrip for the rear barn doors in one piece : 64922-90300 (LH) & 64921-90300 (RH)

No. Once a part is gone, it's gone. That the normal way the game is played.

This specific situation is outside of normal service part procurement at the supplier level as well as at the dealer level.

So, all bets are off in that regard.

That said, no one has said anything about the elephant in the room: Toyota Gazoo Racing does not exist in the US. Hence, there would be no sales outlet. :hmm:

Just saw this article. Sounds like Toyota is looking for input on which parts to put back into production.

I have made two requests, this one was my realistic one. I requested left hand mirror arms, voltage regulators, intermittent wiper controller, tachometer.

My dream one was complete PTO, complete aircon, soft top bows and soft top, 13bt crate motor.

Really probably none of them are realistic, maybe the mirror arms. But honestly any parts are better than none and im sure what ever they choose will have been requested many times so they should be helpful.

I just filled out the Toyota parts survey. You get five part ‘requests’ from nice neat checkboxes and drop downs. Interesting . But I checked ‘Other’ and wrote: “a new FJ to compete with the Bronco!”

Coolerman does repo wiring harnesses so that's not really needed right? Leaf springs, Suspension parts, bumpers, water pumps, alternators are all available aftermarket right? Stuff not available aftermarket would be most important I would think. Or stuff that aftermarket makes but aren't very good. I would think for body parts complete tubs, doors, hinges, and hood. Any glass that's not available. Motors, switches, front and rear heater cores. Emissions parts would be a big one as some states are really clamping down on emissions and we know how many fj40 are out there everyday dumping lethal toxins because of a bad smog pump.

And Nippondenso Factory Air Conditioning!

This was one of my 5. Also asked for domed pistons, full short blocks, tandem booster and any body panels they care to reproduce.
