i'll try this question here.

does anyone know what thread pitch and type toyota uses on its threaded ac line fittings?

i am disconnecting the leaking rear air on my 100 series. the ods for the pipes i will disconnect appear to be 8mm and 19mm. i would like to source some threaded cap fittings to simply disconnect the bad lines at a junction and cap off the lines.

and yes i know i can cut the lines with a pipe cutter and use compression fittings. it will just be a much quicker, simpler and more elegant job if i can use threaded caps.

Any local automotive AC repair shop should be able to provide you with those caps. Seeing as their made out of plastic, I'm thinking they should only cost you a few bucks for both caps.

sorry, i don't mean the caps for the pressure valves. i am talking about the threaded hose fittings toyota uses to join two pieces of a/c line together.

Semlin, sorry for my mistake, but on those fittings I'd still look for a local shop that does automotive AC hose fab work. I use a local shop that can make up any hose you want, and they stock those aluminum fittings that attach the compressor to the rubber hose. Along with the those fittings they also stock the aluminum tubing to fab those replacement hard lines with flair fittings that are mounted on our trucks fender and firewall.

i called the cold hose guys linked above and they can't help. they can do hose ends but don't know of a source for end caps for these types of lines.

there is no a/c shop here except a guy who didn't know where to source compression fittings to cap off the lines and was not interested in working on a japanese vehicle.

my next move is to find a compact pipe cutter i can use and go with compression end caps.

thanks guys
