This kit will replace the stock U-bolt assembly in a spring under, or spring over setup with Round Bend U-bolts giving you not only more ground clearance, but also pointing the threads away from the rocks you drive over which can make them impossible to remove without cutting.

These, like all of our U-bolt kits feature 3/8” thick Top plates, each with three available holes for the center-pin, which when used with our spring perches gives you the ability to move your axle forward or backward an inch very easily.

The U bolts are a 5/8” fine thread, Grade 8 rod that we bend in house, and they all come with not only extra-thick flat washers, but also Grade 8 tall-nuts that have ~ 75% more thread engagement than a standard nut.

One thing to keep in mind is that the stock configuration mounts the shock to the original U bolt plate, which means that you will need to come up with a new way to mount the shocks to the axle.

Any suggestions as to how to affix the axle end of the shock with this spring over setup?
There are a few ways, you can essentially replicate the typical factory style by welding a bolt to the ubolt plate, or more preferably (IMO) go with shock tabs or brackets like what you see below. Pretty easy to make your own, or buy ours, but that lets you place the shock wherever you want, and is really helpful if you are upgrading to longer shocks too ;-)

We have a ton of other options too, click on either picture to see the full selection.
