Just picked up a set of M/T's in 285 75 16. I have been searching to find anyone with a 100 series that has these installed with this size and no success (granted, i only looked through 4 pages of search results and gave up). There are a few folks that have it in 315's on the 100, but more are found on the 80 series.

anybody else have them? comments so far? I use my cruiser to haul the family and dogs and for also my commute daily to tranit (20 min roundtrip of driving). This is 95% of my usage:).. on the weekends in spring/summer and fall, i tend to get out into the mud and rocks on our canadian shield; we routinely get trails with 2-3 feet of water and mud. Its also pulls my boat and is my overland rig - it gets loaded down with our camping gear, RTT, etc. I'm looking forward to the advantage of a more dedicated tire in places that you may need it.

I just sold a set of BFG A/T in the same size after a year of use. uninspiring and they pack up mud easy. I couldn't really care for the loss in MPG, slower response due to increased rotational mass or the sound of the tire (which isn't bad), but i do think the hardness of the rubber may not be the greatest in cold weather and snow/ice conditions we have in canada.. and really, where we are, the winters are pretty easy.

Any photos of these mounted with a 285 75 16 size would be appreciated.. feedback on tire performance in similar conditions is also requested:)

pictures to come tomorrow after i have them installed.

As i continued to search after page 4.. :grinpimp: i found a few photos from SinCity1000 and his 305 70 16 - essentially same expect wider than the 285..

still interested in user experience with the tire if there are those who have used it extensively.. sin?

give "tire tech" section a try

I have a set of 285/75R17 on my 12H-T powered 60 series. I think they are fantastic. 3 weeks up northern BC logging roads/ back roads/ siesmic lines. Couldn't be happier, best tires I've ever had off road. I've got about 15,000 kms on them now. A bit of hwy noise, don't care. I recommend them to everyone.

I am from fort St. John and lived in fort Nelson, Mackenzie and p.g. For a number of years, so likely travelled along similar routes. My concern was over the hardpack snow and ice covered roads as the rubber of this tire seems hard, which means less grippy at lower temp. Have you found this? What tires are you coming from and what kind of cruiser ?

I have the exact same tires on my 80. Very happy with them.

I've had both the 33" (285/75) and 35" (315/75) Toyo MT's now for 4 yrs. I still have my 35's on for the winter even though I have a set of Michelin X-Ice on separate rims. I love the tire. It is heavy and I use a lot more fuel (over 20L/100kms). It does well in snow but obviously not great on ice, but I still get by here in the Ottawa area. They are great for off roading and I have never had any chunking unlike other brands I've seen. Can't say enough good things.

Please post up your results and fuel mileage changes. I have been running Goodrich A/T's for a few years and felt under equipped when I went to the trails in Colorado (high miles on my tires though). Thinking about the open country mt's I hear they wear like iron. I tow sometimes, haul a family of 7 and have a rear bumper with swing outs and cargo baskets. I get about 13.4 mpg and have the 2.5" lift.

I have a TJM T13 on order so that will add some more weight.

I had 33 inch bfg a/t's for a year.. sold them as they weren't good for our type of conditions found on the Canadian Shield (mud, rocks). i switched to the same size tire in the toyo m/t and noticed a decrease in fuel consumption of about 1-2 mpg.. On a full tank of 87 octane, i can get around 250 to 270 miles. signature has my configuration and gear.. no roof rack and at 32 psi.
