I've searched/read dozens of past threads and found many descriptions of the location for this box which combines the tail, brake, and turn signal light and feeds it to the factory original tow package 7-pin outlet. I am setting up for towing a travel trailer with electric brakes, running lights, etc. My symptoms (right brake light only, no turn signals) look like a failure of the Towing Converter Relay (shown clearly in the wiring diagram from the MM - attached) called many other things in these posts)

The descriptions I've found show this box either behind the left rear tail light or in the area around the bottle jack stowage. Behind my taillight is empty space, the bottle jack stowage compartment stuffed with lots of wiring and connectors but nothing resembling this part.

Has anyone with a later Hundy found theirs located someplace else? One thought is that my LC has JBL sound system and part of the subwoofer fills the jack void, maybe I need to do some serious disassembly to find it?

Thanks!

Tim

My MY 1999 is behind the DS tail light. Maybe they moved it in later years.

On the '04, the converter is the small orange box inside of the left hand rear quarter trim panel. You can see it by taking off the jack access cover and looking inside to the left, under the tail light. To get full access for replacement, you'll need to remove the rear left hand quarter panel trim.
