"Andy's Trailer" $950

Looks rough but that is the old military paint and surface rust.

Well done tongue extension and ball hitch saved this from collectors.

Sandblast will make this puppy new. It's the straightest and most unmolested.

OEM holes in the tub only. Great base if you want to "build" one

If Andy passes it's going to get pressure washed with my bulldozer washer and put up for sale

This is the one I think I'm going to keep. It's a bit of a beater. Looks like someone dropped something heavy, heavy on it and squished it.

I was able to get the sides mostly straight with a come-along. Front is squished and won't be fixable.

No lunette. Will make a nice hitch like "Andy's Trailer" for it.

I am seeing if Tolleson can find me some new 700-16's for it.

Once again. No plans to trail this thing. Just looking for something to spread the load. Haul firewood to Scouts and my grill's and Dutch ovens.

I'll sell this one for $650 and keep the white one if anyone wants this one.

I want to have the ability to have it on the trailer depending on the trip.

RTTs are awesome unless you need your car and you are camping in the same spot. Taking it down to go to the store or to wheel is a bitch.
If you are point to point wheeling they are the best.

So much easier to deal with on a trailer. I'm too old to be climbing all over a vehicle to stow the damn thing

Spend some time on "Andy's" trailer this afternoon.

I think I should keep this one. They all have different things I like about them.

The front hitch is 2" and nicely extended. It's basically ready to roll.

I like the blackout lights on the tan one.

I like the idea if a tailgate that's on the white one.

The steel is the straightest on Andy's but it is rough from surface rust.

The others are better to the frame. The tan one had a nice rubber under coat that peeled off to reveal perfect metal.

It is amazing how light they are. Such coolness. Tan was built in 1968, Andy in 1967.

This is before I hammered it with the pressure washer.

This patina is so cool I should just clear coat it.....

This is the metal after I got most of the military paint off. The others have less surface rust

Took my tiny trailer to my friend's house to get a new hitch installed.

I traded Lash for some things for the white one. I pulled the lunette hitch off his to tow it over. Had to buy a 1 7/8" ball (lash, it's here if you need it)

I am putting this 4" channel bulldog on it. We are going to finish the "V" of the frame into the 4" 1/8" wall tube then extend the tube out about 12"

We are going to try for tiny LED lights inside the stock blackout housings. May just do running lights. You can easily see blinkers and brakes from the 100

I love it when a plan comes together

I got 2 new tires from Speedway, 2 tubes and 2 wheels from Memphis Equipment.

I'll keep one of the current wheel/tires and Lash is getting the other one for a spare.

I got my new tongue welded on. It's home. Looks good. Strong. Simple.

Next time you go by see what a rear driveshaft from a deuce would go for ;)

What kind of dumb s*** Army guy paints over history like this with a heavy layer of paint from a brush?

image.jpg

I scraped on it and rubbed it with Goof Off and got it back

image.jpg

Side panel was the same way

image.jpg

It came off easier because I did not soften the paint up with Goof Off like I did on the rear
