Does anyone know if there is a way to safely tow an FJ like behind an RV?
What about putting the transfer case into neutral? Does that disengage everything? I know just putting the transmission in neutral isn't enough.

There is a drive shaft disconnect by Remco that some have used to set one up for flat towing. I don't know if it works for both the auto and the manual or not. The people that have used this setup and that have posted about it seem to like it.

I put the drive line disconnet in my 2007 automatic. When towing I disconnect the driveline by just pulling the disconnect cable, leave it in park and leave the key in where the wheels wont lock. I have towed my FJ for 3 years like this. Went to Alaska last year (8947 miles) and have never had an ounce of problems. I live in Colorado and do some pretty serious 4 wheeling also.

Do not under any circumstances use Neutral in the xfer case. Though it disconnects the xfer from the tranny, it also locks the front and rear wheels together in 4wd.
