Hi, can anyone provide some information on the bolts used for the OEM tow receiver on a 2003 Lexus LX470?
I was thinking of drilling through the factory cross-member to use bolts that go all the way through; this way, I can use a nut and washer to strengthen the tow receiver.
The reason is that I am adding a shackle block, and I wanted to reinforce it for snatches and winching.

Not directly answering your question, but almost all towing hardware uses grade 10.9 (metric) bolts. You can buy them at any decent hardware store with a self-serve nut and bolt section or order from McMaster Carr. You’re right not to cheap out on these.

Not quite visualizing what you’re doing. You should not have to drill anything: the hitch receiver bolts to factory holes in the frame rails. It’s rated for 5,000 lbs IIRC, and figure a 2-3x safety/idiot factor with that number.

Your frame already has integrated nuts fully welded inside the frame, two on each side. You just need high tensile bolts. That is more than enough for the hitch receiver to get structural strength for towing and/or recovering use. It would take a monumental amount of force to twist the frame especially on the rear end for the hitch receiver. Are you looking for the bolt spec/pitch?

Yeah, that would be great if you know it! Can't seem to find it.

FYI I have a Curt hitch receiver with built-in recovery points in the flanges that bolt to the frame rails. I use a shackle insert in the 2” hitch tube, but for any heavy pulls I’d probably attach to those two recovery points so that the load is balanced and puts less stress on the center of the hitch receiver.

Toyota part number for the LX integral hitch receiver torx head bolts is: 90148-12003

These will fit the built-in receiver crossmember in the face of the rear bumper, not the aftermarket style hitch that bolts on below the frame.

Thanks all.
