The owners manual states the trailer weight plus its cargo must not exceed a total of 2500 lbs.
And the gross combination wieght(sum of your vehicle weight plus its load and the trailer wieght plus its load) must not exceed 7500 lbs.
All from the owners manual for a BJ60. Turbo doesn't make a difference about what you can tow. It only helps you pull it quicker.
The brakes on these trucks are not really built to handle 3k behind. But I am sure you could pull a 3000lb travel trailer, just make sure it has brakes. Also practice downshifting on every BC hill.
