What a great trip. Many thanks for posting. Unfortunately most of the news we in the US get from Pakistan is not as enjoyable!

Any personal safety concerns?

Did you camp out or stay in hotels?

Is it safe for Americans to do this trip, and if so, when is your next one?:D

Thanks again.

@ Cruiserdrew ... well its these media guys will never let u live happily so nothing serious its big country (not as big as US )
concerns .. yes i had my family and kids and were three 4x4s so yes we avoided night travlling to avoid any accedents ,routs were very narrow in some places as i said it was freshly open after winters so thats y . and have to give some rest too to recharge them ;)
camping out side ...... you can camp out side if you want to but we stayed in hotles and guest houses bec after 6 to 8 hours some times more , i needed a good bed sleep :)
safe ..... yes it is safe , came across many ppl came for k2 expeditions , my next trip would after Ramzan (our fasting month) but tht would be short one entering kashmier valley ( Nelum valley ) and exiting on Noori top you can chek both on google NELUM VALLEY and NOORI TOP but this would be small one may be 3 to 4 day s max ....
Thanks alot for appreciatting my effort , and you are most welcome ....

we spend one night in ptdc rama astore and second in forest guest house the view was amazing from the guest house ..... 2011 flying the himalayas came here

this is an old bridge connecting gilgit to skardu we came on this route bec we got late there is small place where flash flood comes out from the glaciers high above so either we would have to wait till 1 am or take this rout so we took the chance thinking of discovering old rout and came across this suspension bridge (row row row means slow slow slow) but my foot wasn't letting the gas paddle .. :p

because of this small piece of land we had to take that rout it was hardly 20feet and from here our new destination start SKARDU a city before k2 base camp

That's awesome. I'd be praying about that bridge too! Hard to go slow when all you want to do is get off it.

going to deosai national park from skardu side deosai 13000+ feet got little over heatting after when we increase fuel on it :(
