Hi,

We own a 1999 LX 470 with 282,000 miles.

When turning, the steering can be kind of tough. Is there a way to grease it up? Perhaps there even zircs down there to add grease?

Thanks,

Phil

Steering shouldn't be noticeably impacted by grease or even low tire pressures on this truck. I'd look into bent linkages or a leaking steering rack.

I believe your year truck predates VGRS as a possible issue. Running spacers between the wheels and hubs can also impact steering feel, but you would have likely mentioned that as a possible suspect.

Inspect your steering rack boots for seepage.

Nope.
Try cleaning the screen inside the power steering fluid reservoir and a fluid flush with toyota ATF.

Thank you for responding. When I take it to my mechanic I will show him your notes.
