Yeah, sorry. We personally don't mind dogs (I used to have one) but other guests usually do. Nice dog btw looking at your avatar. Where are you located?

15 min from Port Elgin beach
mid between Port and Owen Sound.

yah, i have 2 dogs, both very well behaved. they go everywhere with me except wheeling. the old guys hips just can't take it ...
cheers

Port Elgin, nice area. I've been to Manitoulin Island once, couple of years ago, took the ferry in Tobermory. Probably drove right by, should have waved, sorry.

I saw this LC a while ago. It's a texas vehicle and already in Canada. It is not exactly close by but it could be a nice road trip.

No, I'm not sure. But I sent the guy an email asking for some more info. I find it strange that he has an extra gps mounted because the truck already has one. If it's broke it would be a problem, because the heating and air is also operated with the same screen.

Your links are interesting too, but they still have to imported. I also found this one. It's closer but not form a rust free state.
A lot more choice across the border, that's for sure.

are you sure they converted mileage to km?

The guy answered my email (to my surprise, because a lot of sellers don't bother)
It os not exactly in Toronto, so I don't know..
Hi Theo.

The vehicle is still for sale. It's clean in-and-out: no rust (although, there are few rock chips here and there). Serviced in Toyota dealership, It's fully loaded: 104K miles (160K kms), Timing belt was replaced at 95K miles (roughly, 16K kms ago), New battery, New all-season tires, Allow rims, 8-seater, Leather, Sun roof, Navigation, 6-CD changer, Husky liners and etc.
Do not hesitate to ask, if you have any questions regarding this truck.
Have a nice day.

Vlad.

offer him $21K, Cruisers are not selling for big bucks these last couple years...
most are just sitting on them till the prices head back up.

there is a "gas guzzling" stigman attached to the big boats even though that V8 isn't all that thirsty.

I am going to check out a couple of rigs in Toronto first, on Wednesday. The black one at the Mazda dealership and a green one. Maybe the colour is not as bad as on the pictures.
There's another black one (a '07) but is doesn't fit the budget.
All 3 have been sitting for a long time. I am hoping they are willing to negotiate. I will make some pics.
If these are not to my liking, I might consider the one in Vancouver, although it's 4500km from here. It would be quite a road trip to get it and I will have to figure out how it works with registration, insurance and temp. plates. And I will need a lot more details before I start offering money.

i did my first blind sale for a jdm 4 runner in BC. it went smoothly. all you need is a temporary ICBC plates/insurance (for say 5 days. in BC, the ministriy of transportation is also the main insurance company. it should pass local safety/etc.). and drive the rig home. Then get it certified and e-tested here and transfer the temp icbc registration to MTO, have proof of insurance, pay some taxes/plates and bob's your uncle. find a cheap one way flight and you've got yourself a gorgeous fall'ish ride back home, slightly downhill. 5days would be more than enough to make it back. :)

Just a little update. I am still in Toronto but I have checked out some vehicles. well, actually just one, because the green one wasn't available The wife of the boss was driving it and I had to wait a least half an hour to see it. When I said I didn't want to wait the salesman turned around and walked away. Okay. Not a used car sales company I want to spend my good money.
The out of budget black one was sold, the sales person didn't even bother to take his cell phone off his ear while he was talking to me.

The good news is that I did see the black LX at the Mazda dealership and I liked it. You could see that it had been sitting for a long time but it looked decent, had a few blemishes in the paint but nothing that couldn't be buffed out. No dent or serious road rash. The frame and undercarriage looked decent, some surface rust but nothing out of the ordinary for a vehicle here. The inside looked decent, little used but consistent with a 6 year old vehicle. It has a clean car fax, low mileage (only 65k).
And it has a low asking price, way lower then the blackbook value.
I asked him to make me an offer I can't refuse and he took $1000 off an waived the $499 admin (?) fee they normally charge. He made sure that I understood that it really was the best he could do. Not much but on the other and, the price is pretty darn good already. The sales person was not impressive to say the least. He didn't know anything about the LX and basically just stood there waiting until I was done. At least he wasn't lying.
Not sure yet, but I am leaning towards buying it. I am going to let him know tomorrow.

I bought it ! :)
They tried to charge me $ 1500 for certification and prepping, but I didn't budge. His manager showed up later with his invoice when he bought the truck. It was $8000 higher then my deal so I think I did good.
I will be picking it up next week.

Thanks! I am pretty happy with it. There are a couple of things I want to do/change.
It will need some serious rust proofing, like Krown or something. The under carriage has some superficial rust. Nothing dramatic, but I might as well protect it now.
It needs some general tlc. You can see that it has been sitting for a while. A few blemishes and small scratches but most will buff out.
I am not a fan of what they did to the LC to turn it into a LX. The chromey bits and not really to my liking. I might experiment with a bit of Plasti-dip.
The whale tail delete is something I am looking into.
I will need a spare key
I would like some sort of iPod integration.
And probably some rims and tires for the winter.

Yes sir. I think I did good. Like I said, she ain't pretty, too much lipstick but she's got good bones.
Just ordered a UsaSpec BT35 iPhone integration module. One thing off my list. Gotta keep busy until she gets here. That will be Tuesday or Wednesday. Taking the train to the big smoke.
