A few months ago I noticed the top shock nut on my passenger front side was loose. After tightening it on a few occasions (couple times with tires on the ground and once on jack stands with the tire off, pipe wrench to back up keeping the shock body from spinning) the problem is ongoing.

I put on the Fox Shocks last summer and have probably driven 12k in that time.

New ball joints.
New SPC control arms.

Doesn't seem to matter which tire/wheel is in place so I don't think it's a balance issue.

Would new hardware do any good? TBH I can't remember if the Foxes came with new nuts or if ire used the OME.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Prolly not that helpful but just thinking out loud on the basics:
- make sure the nut matches the thread?
- Make sure threads are clean and in good shape.
- clean off any grease/lubricant residue (careful wipe down with brake cleaner etc)
- torque correctly
- feel like there must be something wrong if the nut matches, torqued to spec, no grease on threads etc. so if it continues i'd ask what else is loose or broken etc.
- i guess threadlocker could be used (effects torque settings tho)

Oh, I've definitely thought about just throwing some blue LocTite on there and calling it good.
Hadn't thought to clean the threads. Thanks

The icons I installed have two nuts. One acts as a lockout, instructions state to torque it against the actual top nut. Classic double nut locking style.

Hmm, so is that in place simply to keep the nut from loosening? Can't really think of another reason, but I haven't seen many people reporting this as an issue.

Exactly!
