I'm putting some new shocks on the front of the 62. Bottom bolt came out fine, but....deep breath while I feel very stupid... how am I supposed to get the top nut off without spinning the shock? It seems to have a flat space to grab on to but I'm afraid I'll butcher it.
Thanks
BILL

Hold it with a shifter!! (adjustable wrench, to you, I think!).
If it is a larger shifter with wider jaws then it will have a better grip.
Make sure that you have sprayed the thread with WD40, RP7, or whatever you have, first.

You may have to cut it off with a cutting wheel/grinder.

Grab the flats with a "shifter" as QLD said...some shocks have allen head sockets in the top...Bilsteins, for example.

You could also hold the shock with channel lock pliers while loosening up the nut...ML
