I thought maybe someone could benefit from my previous experiences with Lizard Skin and topcoating.
Long story short, I've got a build going on and decided to refinish the firewall while I have the engine out. Took it down to bare metal (rusty), degreased with Marine Clean, etched wig Metal Ready, POR-15, etching primer, Lizard Skin ceramic insulation, Poly Primer, Bulldog Adhesive Promoter, and finally top coated with PPG's Omni MTX 2.8 single stage urethane (yeah, it was a heck of a process).
Anyways, I figured I'd post the pics of how it turned out so others can reference it. Overall I'm really pleased with how it came out.
Not shown is the poly primer, but you can use your imagination. I didn't block it down, just lightly scuffed and misted with adhesion promoter...
