This is sort of an epilogue to Felde's posts on bleeding the fuel line properly. fuel tank and lines
Sunday I got all the junk out of my sedimenter but let air into the line. Truck would not run.
I had a 200 ml syringe meant for fluid transfer and I tried using that to pull fuel thru from the sedimenter to the primer pump.

It did not work well enough.
I decided to spend part of my tax refund on this suction device sold on Amazon. It got here in one day which was surprising.
fluid evacuator
I had no faith in the old OEM primer pump so I swapped it out for a Bosch unit I had bought a while back. Finally a good reason to install it.
Lastly I found a plastic adapter to get from 6 mm hose to 8 mm hose.

I connected the evacuator to the fuel line and started pumping. In about 30 seconds I had pulled through 2 liters of fuel, the last of it without air bubbles.

As Felde directed, I disconnected the fuel line and kept my thumb over the end to keep the fuel from siphoning back while connecting it to the primer pump housing.
Then I just had to bleed the air from the fuel filter and the truck started right up.

Yeah. Great job. :bounce::clap:
Lesson learned: It takes about 2l to be pulled trough to bleed the main fuel line tank to priming pump.
That matches my experience.
Happy Cruiser cruising now!
Cheers
Ralf (Felde)
