Tomorrow is the day.

I will be replacing my starter contacts and plunger tomorrow morning.

My question is this, what are some good prep items, like things I can do tonight to give me a jump start in the morning? I have been through the emails and checked off my tools.

1. Remove v bank cover
2. Take out air box
3. ????
4. ????

Thanks,

uzj100

ps - Anyone want to give me their phone number to call if I run into problems? PM off list. I am starting at around 6 am EST.

you're going to take lotsa pics, right?
TIA
:)

Done. 4.5 hrs. No pictures. To focused on finishing. Old Contacts and plunger were a mess. Hopefully that was the issue. If not, at least there are new contacts and plunger in there now.

 All that and brakes too?! Congrats. Any hidden issues or did it go smoothy as the write ups predicted. If nothing else the money you saved should be a great source of pride (well of course a job well done is nice also).

No brakes. That will be another weekend. Very straight forward. Two had to have items, magnetic reacher bolt picker upper and a long extension. These are to remove the intake bolts and nuts.

More specifics please...how long of an extension did you use? Did you access from the bottom of the vehicle?

Access is through the top.

18 inch. Loosen the bolt or nut and then use the magnetic bolt retriever to pull the bolt/nut up.

Also, when removing the starter, loosen the 10 mm bolt holding the tranny wiring harness. This made the second starter bolt very easy to remove. I used a 14 mm deep socket.

Glad to hear that the procedure went well for you. Brakes will be MUCH easier.
