I am now noticing a trend (i think), Saturday went wheelin and she ran great, started her up Sunday and all was good, drove to the gas station, filled up and all of a sudden she didn't want to idle??????

Ditch the Webber and get a rebuilt stock carb. New tank, replace your fuel lines and filters.

I re moved the little in-line filter and added a big fuel filter/ water separator, replaced ALL the fuel lines this time, gonna clean the carb real and give that weber another chance.

I tore up my plastic fan blade recently, What should I replace it with? plastic? metal? or an electric?

I replaced the fan with a plastic one, got a heads up from one of the LC guru's that I probably broke a motor mount, went and checked and son-of-a-monkeys-uncle he was right, bugger!!!$#^##%^%#$

Replace it with the FJ60 mounts, much stronger than the 40's. Got mine from
Cruiser Outfitters. They are pretty cheap.

I ordered them from cruiserparts.net, cheaper shipping.

hummmmm, didn't know that, I'm helping with the raffle this year, guess I will have to get on their case about it, Have they been approached about the raffle?

Took today off, got some of the little things done on the 40, mounted the fire extinguishers, power tank and center counsel. Threw a little touch up paint on her, cleaned her up a bit, Still trying figure out good storage, tool box, cooler etc?

wow those motor mounts were harder than I thought to install, I got a little creative with a bottle jack and all is good, went wheelin today and everything worked great, well except for the nice spiral dent I put in my driveshaft, oh ya and inverting one of my front shackles, didn't bend the leaf though, can't wait for carnage never been there.

Tom, I have been in touch with Cruiser Outfitters about donating to the raffle but not Cruiser Parts.

Hundreds of oil changes under my belt and I finally made the double-filter-gasket mistake. Luckily I only ran it a second to roll off the ramps. Stepped out of the truck into a quickly spreading puddle of fresh Pennzoil.

BIG mess but no harm done, thankfully. Lots and lots of kitty litter on my driveway and the left-front area of my undercarriage is rrustproofed for winter.

I'm blaming Sara. ;) She was outside working on refinishing a desk in the garage and yapping at me incessantly about why wasn't I wearing gloves, I was going to get cancer, etc.. The more she talked the more I messed up. Even before the big blow out I had already made more of a mess then ever (grabbed the wrong bucket, this one had a leak, dropped the old filter in the oil bucket trying not to get oil on my arm, etc.)

When it was all said and done and we were sitting there looking at the huge mess I turned to her and said... "Now obviously, this isn't your 'fault' but I'll be wrenching without your input from now on please."

Some where it's written that wives are not allowed in the shop. This is why!

So my wrenching, changed oil and filter (no spills, worked alone!)
Freed up the bellcranks, now I have a parking brake.
Greased driveshafts.
Replaced drivers mirror.
Worked on an exhaust leak.
PB Blaster on all hardware that will need to be removed
for the lift install.

Lift install? 40 or 80?

80, 2" OME springs. They came with the truck when I got it.

More info on the 60 mounts? Are they basically the same dimentions?

Spend Saturday working on fitting the H55 into the 45 frame. I'm using a crossmember from an 87 FJ60 so its taking some fab work. Trying to get the fab work finished on the frame by the end of the month so I can get it blasted an painted by October.

Will fit right in there, they are square instead of the round and
I think the bolt runs all the way thru the mount. The F mounts
are 2 studs molded to the rubber and they separate after a while.

The 60 mount has two studs that mount into the rubber just like the F mounts.

Yup, these are the ones I got, a stud on one side and a bolt thru the other.
